Looks cold! And snow! In April! That's just crazy. (I guess I've been living in southern California too long.)
Wow, this is like old times! I was born in Kansas City, my mother went to Park College in Parkville, and my uncle lived for many years on a farm in Lee's Summit. I was there for a visit last year - in the spring when the weather was warm.
I know towns like Parkville a million times over. And I always like them.
These are great! I can't believe it took me so long to get over here and check them out. I think I remember learning once that Kansas City had more fountains than any other city in the United States. I wonder if it's true.
I believe it is true about the fountains. A lot of them are at Country Club Plaza, which is a shopping area that was built in 1923 and was modeled after Seville, Spain. The fountains began to be built in the 1890s, but developer, J.C. Nichols, who developed the Country Club Plaza, brought in a lot of bronze fountains from Europe, which resulted in a fountain boom. Unfortunately, right now due to the economy, many of KC's fountains are just beautiful sculptures, due to the cost of pumping and using so much water.
Speedo,
I loved the whirlwind tour of KC! I feel like I've been on a mini vacation. It was delightful. My favorite photo is the babe that walked in front of your camera. Crime don't pay.

My WV OUSHNOs. Like all of mine, makes no sense. You get all the good ones.
Very cool set of cold weather photos. I've never been to KC and you've given me a nice, all-around tour.
PS - I posted an answer to the alligator question on Sat. cheers!
I guess Earl is resting on these laurels for awhile...
